Moving Average — Trend ka Safar
मूविंग एवरेज — ट्रेंड का सफर
Moving average noise ko filter karke underlying trend dikhata hai. SMA aur EMA dono widely used hain. 200-day moving average puri trading duniya follow karti hai.
Simple Moving Average (SMA)
Simple Moving Average ek given period ke closing prices ka arithmetic mean hota hai. 20-day SMA calculate karne ke liye pichle 20 din ke closing prices ko add karo aur 20 se divide karo. Kal naya day add hoga aur 21 din pehle wala remove ho jayega. Isliye 'moving' average.
SMA ki main utility hai ki yeh short-term price fluctuations ko smooth karta hai aur longer-term trend visible karta hai. Agar price SMA ke upar hai toh generally bullish trend maana jaata hai. Neeche hai toh bearish.
50-day aur 200-day SMA global financial markets mein bahut widely followed hain. Jab 50-day SMA 200-day SMA ke upar cross karta hai toh isse Golden Cross kehte hain jo bullish signal mana jaata hai. Jab neeche cross karta hai toh Death Cross, bearish signal.
Exponential Moving Average (EMA)
EMA SMA se zyada responsive hoti hai recent price changes ke liye. EMA mein recent prices ko zyada weight milta hai aur older prices ko kam. Yeh multiplication factor ke through achieve hota hai jo kuch aisa dikhta hai: Multiplier = 2 divided by (Period plus 1).
20-day EMA ke liye multiplier = 2 divided by 21 = approximately 0.095. Toh EMA = Current Price multiplied by 0.095 plus Previous EMA multiplied by 0.905.
EMA faster signals deta hai lekin false signals bhi zyada hote hain. Volatile markets mein EMA whipsaws create karta hai jab price repeatedly EMA ke upar neeche cross karta hai without clear trend. SMA slower hai lekin more stable. Traders often both use karte hain: faster EMA for entry signals, slower SMA for overall trend confirmation.
Moving Averages ki Limitations
Moving averages lagging indicators hain. Yeh past data pe based hain aur future predict nahi karte. By the time moving average crossover signal deta hai, significant portion of the move already happen ho chuka hota hai.
Ranging ya sideways markets mein moving averages bahut poor performance dete hain. Jab price ek range mein chalta hai, MA crossovers frequently occur karte hain creating many losing trades. Moving averages only in trending markets perform karte hain.
Parameter selection bhi critical hai. Kaunsa period use karna hai, 50 day ya 100 day ya 200 day, yeh arbitrary hai. Agar aap different periods try karte rehte ho aur best fitting one choose karte ho toh yeh overfitting hai aur future mein kaam nahi karega.
- 01SMA last N periods ka simple average hai, EMA recent prices ko zyada weight deta hai
- 02200-day SMA globally most followed technical indicator hai
- 03Lagging indicators hain: by the time signal aata hai, move already ho chuka hota hai
- 04Ranging markets mein MA strategies poorly perform karti hain
